F.A.Q for PND MapKing
Q. My device
does not show my current location, why is this so?
A. Please make sure that you are not under any shelter or
indoors, GPS does not have the ability to receive any signals when
in a building. Sometimes GPS satellites have shifted position and
your receiver is unable to register their location, thus it has to
re-sync to the satellites taking up some time. Also, by staying
stationary helps the receiver to obtain a better fix
Q. I cannot
find a particular place or road or POI I want to go to, why?
A. Make sure the map is the correct one, eg searching for
Singapore POI - make sure map is selected to SLA Singapore.
By using 'Find POI' in destination give you a better and higher chance search. Do remember to set Range settings if possible. If the following does not still assist, contact us allowing us to know the POI.
Q. Every time
I start my MapKing on my PND, an error message "Cannot Load Map"
prompts Why?
A. An update error might have occurred.
For Holux 53CL Please bring your set to our Retail outlet for an
Upgrade if possible.
Other users may access the Storage card (if possible) and access
to '\Maganavi\user' folder and delete the file called
'ppgnavi12.cfg'

Q. How do I
update my maps? Would I be notified? How much if any is the
update?
A. Each device has a different executable file that can be
found at the PND Section.
You are required to at least have a Card Reader and just run the
File. A guide can be found in the same area.
Notifications are only done by EastGear for Holux 55 and 53. Any other devices will have to check the website or subscribe to our mailing list.
Updates are free for your 1st year. Payment required will be notified if any.
Q. Can I use
the Map updates from Malsingmaps.com?
A. No the Map type there are not suitable for Any PND devices
Q. I am using
Holux 53CL, and I have an Hourglass that spins non stop. GPS
navigation is almost Impossible!
A. Your MapKing Program is due for Upgrading, We have released
a later version of MapKing that has resolved that problem. Please
bring your Unit to our Retail Outlet at 42 Horne Road.
Please note your Favorites will be erased and cannot be restored.
Also there is no over the net upgrade, you will have to physically
bring your unit to us for the upgrade.
